About Our Practice

House Calls, LLC, based in Belhaven, North Carolina, offers patients of all ages a new way to stay healthy by combining secure telemedicine with home visits. Board-certified Laureen Koehler, FNP-C, believes every patient deserves outstanding health care, and her mission is to help them achieve the best emotional, physical, and spiritual health possible.

Laureen began her nursing career in hospital emergency rooms and intensive care units. She also worked as a school nurse before graduating with her master’s degree in nursing. She’s served the local communities for over 18 years and is a board-certified family nurse practitioner.

House Calls, LLC, offers telemedicine services, including acute care and chronic disease management, to patients across North Carolina. Home visits cover Beaufort County and Hyde County, where Laureen travels to a patient’s home, workplace, or school. She collects blood samples from patients for lab tests and discusses the results with them via telemedicine.

Addiction medicine is one of Laureen’s specialties. She prescribes medications like methadone and buprenorphine to help people get through the challenging withdrawal phase and monitors their progress via telemedicine afterward. Laureen also provides primary care services and makes home visits every three months.

If needed, patients can request various specialized physicals from House Calls, LLC, including commercial driver’s license (CDL) exams, sports physicals, and Coast Guard physicals with Department of Transportation (DOT) drug testing. Laureen also undertakes Medicare annual wellness exams for patients on Medicare Part B, offers pre-and post-op care, and can refer patients to specialists where necessary or for radiology and other diagnostic procedures.
